At Minciostraße 17 in Vienna's 15th district, a new center for music, artistic development, and collective exchange about a livable future for all is being created, as well as a place where the role of art as a means of supporting social transformation is being explored.

SOIL aims to explore the topic of “soil” artistically in order to shed light on the effects of human activity on biodiversity and the complex interaction of soil organisms in various ways.

What well-springs feed acts of creation? Intuition? Experience? Where are creativity and inspiration located? Within or without?

With the season of 2018, Suzie Heger handed the directorship over to musician couple Julia Lacherstorfer and Simon Zöchbauer both of whom have been closely linked to the festival for years; they have performed on the lake stage many times themselves.

Lacherstorfer and Zöchbauer are outstanding musicians. But at no point during their stirring concert do they seem to forget what kind of music they want to bring to the audience and what kind of emotions they are ambassadors.
